Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Moon and Zowie Bowie.

About a year ago a friend recommended I should watch an Independent film called Moon which had been released in 2009, directed by someone called Duncan Jones.
I have to confess I didn’t like the sound of Moon, but bought it and was surprised how good it was. It had an interesting plot, was well written and directed, and really conveyed the isolation and desperation of the main character in the film as events unfold around him.
Then recently, as I was researching something else, I discovered the director of Moon was none other than David and Angie Bowie’s son, formerly Zowie Bowie, who (understandably) changed his name to Duncan Jones, probably at his first possible legal opportunity.
I was quite impressed that he’d made the film without trading on his family name, and like his father, that he too had reached for the stars (or planets) in establishing a name for himself in popular culture.
