My Punk Memoir ‘Bombed Out!’ – Update and Great Readers’ Comments.

I just printed a few hundred more copies of Bombed Out! as it continues to sell very well from this site and from News From Nowhere in Liverpool city centre. I’m still amazed by the unsolicited emails I receive from readers, some of which I have featured below.
I also have the rights to the film’s screenplay back in my hands so I will be re-exploring how to get the film of Bombed Out! made in the coming months.
I’m featuring in this article just a selection of some of the readers’ comments I have so far received.
Being ‘hard to put down’ has been mentioned a few times too:
The book has been read by a wide selection of ages and by people with vastly different life experiences, from all over the world.
It seems to have struck a particular chord (forgive the pun) with its musical references throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and also jogged a few memories with British news and current affairs which are also mentioned throughout.
It also seems to have resonated with people who were former Punks, and with those who, like me, were dumped on the dole queues of Thatcher’s Britain with no prospect of work.
I am pleased with the impact Bombed Out ! has had so far, especially in its short life and I’d like to thank everyone who has bought it, read it and especially those who have enjoyed it and kindly shared their feelings about the book with me.
And finally, some seasoned Liverpool band members have also read it, and here’s what they had to say:
And there’s a fair bit of humour in it too….
