Punk Mementos: My Eric’s Club Membership Cards.

I was recently pleased to find my old Eric’s Punk club membership cards for the years 1977 – 1980.
As mentioned in my Punk and New Wave memoir, Bombed Out!, during this period when I was playing bass in Liverpool New Wave bands, I was also working in Eric’s, hung out there, played there, rehearsed there and and, fueled by free admission to the club (a perk from the club owners), I also got to see almost 200 Punk and New Wave bands perform down there too.
There’s some double counting, as I saw some bands more than once, but still, not a bad effort.
Bearing in mind I also played there ten times with the bands I was in, and went to the club over 150 times to see gigs over that three year period, the club remains an important part of my formative years, which also comes through in the narrative of Bombed Out!.
