Memorabilia: Punk Badges.

Above Photo: More of my Punk Memorabilia discovered recently.

I recently discovered these badges amongst my other Punk and band memorabilia recently, but wondered where I had got them, as I would never have bought them.

This is still my favourite, but I don’t remember where or how I got it.

Back then, in 1977 – 1978, I would never have parted with precious cash for badges when I could have put the money towards even more valuable Punk records.

I know I got these after Penetration gig at Eric’s in June 1978

I think I picked up badges as freebies, when seeing the bands, afterwards, backstage (definitely that was the case with Penetration, where I scrounged two of them in June 1978 after their Eric’s gig).

I got this free from the band in March 1978 when they appeared in Virgin Records, St John’s Market, after a gig in Liverpool the previous night.

I got the Buzzcocks one free when I saw them in Virgin Records after they played a gig at Liverpool’s Eric’s the night before, when I also bought Another Music In A Different Kitchen to have signed by them.

I think I got this when I bought Never Mind The Bollocks.

The Sex Pistols one I believe I got as a freebie when I bought their Never Mind The Bollocks album in November 1977.

And the plectrum? (See headline photo). Sadly now I have no idea, but obviously it must have been from an important Punk gig for me to have packed it away with the rest of my Punk memorabilia.
